Boys Will Be B...BZZZZZZZZZZZTTT!
Current mood: electric

used to do this nonsense. Election season was one of the best
times for teenage boys with freshly printed driver licenses. But
at nine years old?? I think dad was trying to teach his son a
lesson on consequence-free living... (we will leave the household party
affiliation for the reader to guess).
"Suspected sign swapper, 9, gets shock"
"Shawn Turschak of Chapel Hill was tired of someone stealing McCain-Palin campaign signs from his yard.
Turschak, who has a degree in electrical engineering, hooked up a sign
to a power source for an electric pet fence Monday. Turschak also put
up a surveillance camera.
Raleigh News & Observer reported that on Tuesday, a 9-year-old boy
with an Obama-Biden sign grabbed the McCain-Palin sign and got a jolt.
boy's father, Andrew Noble, then showed up at the Turschak's door,
upset that his son had been shocked. Soon, an Orange County sheriff's
deputy also showed up at Turschak's home.
says that his son just wanted to see how the campaign sign was put
together. Turschak says that the boy intended to swap out the signs. Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass said he doesn't plan to file charges."
Oh, but that's not all. Here's another bright spot in modern news reporting - a curiously detailed piece on the story.

afternoon, the camera saw this: A neighbor trotting up with an

McCain-Palin sign, then fleeing at top 9-year-old boy speed.
A few minutes later, the boy's father, Andrew Noble, was at Turschak's
door, demanding an explanation from Turschak's 13-year-old daughter,
who called her parents on the phone to say a man was yelling at her.
Both families agree on one aspect of the exchange, that Noble chastised
her for "electrocuting" his son, then left."
Chewing out a 13 year old female third party? What a stud you are, Mister "Noble"!

Deny, deny, deny - and fabricate if necessary. Can you define "is" Mr. Noble?
And before sympathy grows for the little guy, who may seem a pawn here being played by the grown-ups,
who has a degree in electrical engineering, said he tested the shock on
himself while wiring the signs, and did so again while a reporter
watched Wednesday, touching both signs repeatedly without flinching.
Under each was a yellow sign warning that they were electrified."
Probably the best line of the story,
James Nida of the Sheriff's Department talked to both families
Wednesday. Nida, who as a child experienced the charms of electric
fences, didn't feel the need to test Turschak's signs.
"Been there, done that," he said."
The charms of electric fences... that's gotta be a book title!
