A Strange Bond

A while back I referred to a friend of mine as a "bar-buddy" and she got really offended.  Sure, we had shared substantial time together, and conversed on plenty of personal matters, but the fact was I had never once seen her outside of the bar.

I'll never figure out just how, but there really is a common bond formed among people who don't do anything more substantial than trade BS over some brews.  It's not like we went through boot camp together, or worked all nighters to get a proposal together (or a race car built), or volunteered to build a house somewhere.  But still...
