The Trip
Current mood:  tired
Category: Travel and Places

Ok, I started writing up a series of notes about the trip all over Europe last week.  I got to three pages of ranting about airlines before I quit all that.

So, here are some pics.  I cannot find my regular camera anywhere, so these phone pics will have to do.

First stop, Landskrona, Sweden.  My favorite stop of the whole trip - just gotta make sure any return trip is not in the winter.

Tycho Brahe is a big deal there.  We ate at his pub.

After an overnight flight, we had all day Sunday to recover, so we took an afternoon to walk about - and we found a Renaissance Festival!

Several days and flights and taxi rides and loooong meetings later, we had a free afternoon in Torino, Italy.  I loved the place!  Not too big a town, but still plenty to see and do with just enough hustle and bustle going on, including actual productivity (unlike other cities full of bohemian spongers).

I didn't get a chance to do the usual McDonalds visit, but there are still signs that the American empire is healthy.

Shortly after that we were in Paris.  After a day trip to Amiens, a cluster of factories in the middle of farm fields, we had a day to poke around.

Notre Dame was too spiny for my taste.

I preferred the cleaner look of this buttressed chapel.

An afternoon stroll, with plenty of zig-zagging to hit side street shops, takes in the usual suspect photo ops.

The Eiffle thingy was all blue and starry because France has the notional EU "presidency" this year.  Does France get a driver and fancy house with that?
